It was awesome watching Kris Allen win American Idol last night because:
1) The judges and the show spent so much time pimping Adam Lambert and trying to throw Kris under the bus.
2) He was a genuinly better artist than Adam was. If Adam won American Idol and put out a record, I'd be expecting an insane Queen-esque masterpiece complete with musical bravado and his signature wail on every single song. Anything less than that would be disappointing, and anything more would be plain annoying. Kris however, kept it steady, and put on great performances every week, even if they weren't as dramatic and extravagant as Adam's performances and voice.
So Kris's win proved to me last night that Idol isn't fixed, because if a regular guy like Kris can beat a contestant like Adam who the judges have been promoting all season long, then it shows that America at least sees through the bullshit that the corporations and producers at Fremantle are trying to shove down their throats. Way to pick a good one for once guys.
