Don't throw it around

BY ZEP

I'm sick of seeing MSN names and facebook statuses saying "I love you so-and-so."

Especially when it's a new name replacing so-and-so every two weeks.

People seem to live in this delusional landscape where love -- or at least, what they think is love-- can manifest in a matter of seconds. And then they break up with that person and find a new person a few weeks later, to which they tell them the same thing.

Love isn't a word you can throw around. Contrary to the belief of our technologically obsessed , find-a-relationship-over-the-interweb culture, it means more than just saying it. You have to say it, show it, know it, fucking feel it coursing through the crevices of your veins.

Loving someone is giving them your heart, and that's not something that you should hand out like flyers to every person you make out with in the corner of some dirty bar.

So do me a favour myspacers/msners/love-fakers.

And better yet, do yourself a favour.

Say what you fucking mean. Or don't say it.
