Fighting for control

In the past few days there have been events that have been enjoyable and not so enjoyable, both of which are serving as great sources of inspiration for writing.

I feel as if there are two different people that are figuratively fighting for control inside my head.

The first is Matt. Regular Matt. Calm, caring, and collected. He just wants life to work out, to be loved and fulfilled, happy and enjoyable.

The other is ZEP, the alter ego that is allowed to be uncaged in areas such as this blog. He's sick of the bullshit and tired of being sold out and controlled and dictated to. He wants to burn the neighbourhood to the ground and let the ashes fester into some semblance of a better life.

It's such a stark contrast, and the meeting of these two different aspects in my head are throwing things outta whack. While both may serve to generate some great lyrics, I'm not sure which one is going to take control in the long run, or if one could even live without the other.

The mind is quite a complicated place.
